Fluidda was founded in 2005, focusing on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), a discipline used in the design of aircraft wings. Image processing of CT scans and flow simulations on patient-specific 3D models are combined to provide a unique sensitive tool for phenotyping patients and monitoring the efficacy of novel respiratory drugs.
Through this novel approach, Fluidda developed its proprietary Functional Respiratory Imaging (FRI) technology where advanced engineering tools are applied to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of respiratory diseases. Its head office is located in Belgium (Kontich), with offices in USA (New York and LA) and Portugal (Lisbon).
Team
The executive officers are an interdisciplinary team of graduates of aerospace or biomedical engineering programs and respiratory clinicians, focusing on the implementation of FRI. At Fluidda, this combined expertise leads to the development of Respiratory Solutions that support the monitoring and diagnoses of respiratory diseases.
